Providence Golf Club

Providence Golf Club is a gated master-planned community in Davenport, Polk County, developed in the early 2000s during Central Florida's broader residential expansion west of the Disney corridor. The community was built around a Michael Dasher-designed 18-hole championship golf course, which served as the centerpiece and selling point for the entire development. Dasher's design incorporates the natural elevation changes and wetlands typical of the Polk County ridge, giving the course a more dramatic feel than most flat Florida layouts.

Development proceeded in multiple phases over roughly a decade, with builders including both national production homebuilders and semi-custom options offering buyers considerable flexibility in lot and floor plan selection. The community attracted a mix of primary residents, second-home buyers, and some long-term rental investors, reflecting the broader diversity of Davenport's buyer pool.

Providence sits along the US-27 corridor, which during this period became one of the most active growth areas in Polk County. The community's gated entrances, manicured streetscapes, and resort-style amenity package positioned it at the upper end of the local market. Today it remains one of Davenport's most recognizable planned communities, with an established feel that newer nearby developments are still working toward.
