Background
A brief history
Turnburry was platted and built out between 1984 and 1988 as a non-gated residential neighborhood on Apopka-Vineland Road, directly across from the northern entrance to Bay Hill. The developer designed the neighborhood with mature shade-tree landscaping, sidewalks, and a strong emphasis on family-oriented living. The neighborhood was primarily completed by the late 1980s, with few remaining vacant lots. Turnburry has matured into one of Dr. Phillips' most established, tree-canopied neighborhoods with strong resident stability and low turnover.
The feel
What it's like to live here
Turnburry feels like a classic Orlando family neighborhood from the mid-1980s. Mature canopy of shade trees lines every street. Homes are primarily traditional and Florida ranch architecture, typically 2,400–4,500 square feet with 4–6 bedrooms and 2-car garages. Most feature breakfast rooms, family rooms, and den/library spaces typical of 1980s construction. Many have added pools, screen rooms, or updated kitchens. The neighborhood is non-gated but well-established with active HOA oversight. Residents tend to be long-tenured families or professionals seeking easy access to Bay Hill.
