Background

A brief history

Ridgewater was developed starting in 2000 on a large parcel on the west side of Windermere, part of the wave of gated mid-price family communities that filled in behind Keene's Pointe's success. The developer released roughly 260 lots and delivered homes through regional production builders, with build-out running from 2000 through 2008. Most homes were delivered in traditional and Mediterranean-lean production plans — brick and stucco exteriors, hip-roof profiles, two-car garages. A wave of kitchen and bath renovations has moved through the community since 2016 as original buyers sized up, moved out of state, or retired.

The feel

What it's like to live here

Ridgewater sits in the mid-price tier of Windermere gated communities — below Keene's Pointe and Tildens Grove on price, above older non-gated neighborhoods like Hollister on amenity and security. The community has a resort amenity center (pool, tennis courts, fitness room, clubhouse) that gets real daily use, and an active community event calendar. Streets are wide with sidewalks on both sides, which makes the interior walkable. Lots run 0.15 to 0.3 acre. Architecture is production traditional with a Mediterranean lean — visually cohesive rather than varied. The resident base skews family-heavy, drawn by Windermere school zoning at a more attainable price point.
