A brief history

Laurasia is one of the newest and most upscale gated communities within West Viera, brought to life by Viera Builders — the same builder arm of The Viera Company that has shaped this master-planned community since ground was broken in 1989. The Viera Company traces its origins to A. Duda and Sons, a Slovak immigrant family that farmed 43,000 acres of Brevard land beginning in the 1920s. When the Duda family broke ground on the Viera master plan in August 1989, they established a four-phase vision for mixed residential, commercial, and institutional development. Laurasia represents one of Viera's final chapters in that westward residential expansion, with occupancy beginning in 2024.

The community is planned for approximately 260 homes on lots ranging from roughly 0.19 to 0.78 acres, the majority in the 0.23–0.26-acre range. Viera Builders designed Laurasia around a modern Mediterranean aesthetic — tile roofs, stone accents, and refined elevation details — with 14 distinct floor plans ranging from approximately 2,672 to 3,937 square feet under air.
