Ryan's Take on Storey Lake
Storey Lake draws a buyer profile unlike almost any other community in Central Florida — a blend of vacation-rental investors, second-home owners, and full-time hospitality workers who all share one common thread: they want resort amenities with a five-minute commute to the Walt Disney World gates. That proximity to the theme park corridor is the real anchor here. Disney, Universal, SeaWorld, and the I-Drive hospitality belt collectively represent the region's largest employment base, and Storey Lake sits squarely inside that gravitational pull in a way that bedroom communities farther north simply cannot match.
What makes the housing stock distinctive is the explicit short-term rental zoning — a genuine rarity in the Orlando metro. Lennar built this master-planned community from the mid-2010s onward with investors in mind, layering in two full clubhouse complexes, a lazy river, resort pools, a restaurant and tiki bar, kayak rentals, and a free shuttle between amenity hubs. Buyers shopping Storey Lake almost always cross-shop Reunion Resort and Windsor at Westside, two other STR-zoned communities nearby, but Storey Lake's relative scale — more than 2,000 homes across multiple phases — and Lennar's ongoing new construction give it a depth of product and rental inventory that the smaller enclaves cannot offer.
